Good News From Sarah's Circle
Dear Friends:
Welcome to the Sarah’s Circle web site! We are delighted that you are visiting us, and want to share some “good news” with you.
For some of us, “good news” might mean the big promotion we were hoping for. For others, it might be getting married or having a baby. For still others, it might be finding that perfect apartment or house.
Women who are homeless have “good news”, too, and it’s not always so different from ours. But often it’s more basic. Here are some samples from our “Good News” Board:
- “I got my place. I have my keys and I am moving in starting tomorrow. Thank you to Sarah’s Circle and staff for the help they have given me.”
- “I’m so happy I have a job. My goal is to keep my job and go farther in life.”
- “I’ve been clean for four months, and today I just completed my program for Progressions. If you have a problem, try A.A., or N.A. or C.A. It worked for me and it can work for you.”"
- I got my Social Security card. I am thankful for every day. Things get brighter every day.”
- “I have finally landed a job. I am a 40-hour a week working woman. It really feels good getting up in the morning and going to work. Thank you Jill [Director of Case Management] for your encouragement.”
- “Hey girls, I had a little boy!”
- “I passed my Certified Nurses’ Assistant class and my board test. Thank you, Sarah’s Circle!”
- “We have gotten an apartment by the grace of God. May our sisters follow in our footsteps and continue our rise to the sky.”
We encourage the women to share their good news by posting it on a special bulletin board. And now we’re posting some of it here on our web site for all to see. We are very proud of the women at Sarah’s and their accomplishments. They are an inspiration to staff, volunteers and Board – and we hope, to you!
